The Stallion Springs Police Department is seeking Officers to join our team:

DEFINITION

To be considered a Police Officer Lateral, applicants must be a current full-time California Police Officer or have an active California basic P.O.S.T. certificate within the past three years.

THE POSITION

The Stallion Springs Community Services District is looking to immediately fill a Full-Time Police Officer position. The ideal candidate for Police Officer will be an individual with high commitment to customer service, high emotional intelligence, be of good moral character, and the ability to work comfortably in a small-town atmosphere enjoyed by the residents and guests of Stallion Springs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must posses a valid California Class C Driver’s License, graduation from high school or equivalent completion of the Basic Police Academy, passed a California P.O.S.T. equivalent Field training program, have a satisfactory driving record: P.O.S.T. certification to include demonstrated firearms proficiency and qualification; complete a comprehensive background investigation including a psychological, and medical examination. Additionally, applicants must meet citizenship requirements per California Government Code 1031 & 1031.5.

WE DO NOT REQUIRE A COVID-19 VACCINATION for initial, or to maintain employment.

TYPICAL DUTIES

Applicants must be able to apply the knowledge and skills required of a sworn police officer, and display the ability to perform the following: patrol the community services district individually or as part of a team; provide information, directions and assistance to the public in a variety of situations; take reports and assist the public with complaints; observe, monitor and control routine and unusual traffic situations; stop motorists for various vehicle code violations, and issue traffic citations or give verbal warnings; make arrests for criminal offenses; serve warrants and subpoenas; transport individuals for medical clearance and booking at the County facility; be available to work a wide range of schedules that may include weekends, holidays, night shifts and overtime. Must be available to the on call during scheduled work week.

Applicants must apply with an application and a Basic P.O.S.T. certificate. Intermediate or Advance P.O.S.T. Certificates will not be accepted in lieu of a Basic P.O.S.T.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

The current salary for this position ranges from $69,623.73 - $84,354.81 annually, and may increase depending on qualifications. Benefits includes: California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS), medical, dental and vision insurance (Employee medical 100% covered, dependents medical 50%, Dental 51% and Vision 50%); Educational Assistance Plan, uniform allowance; sick leave, vacation accruals and paid disability Insurance after one year of employment and a department issued cell phone.

There is NO closing date as the application period will remain open until the position(s) are filled. The hiring process will include, but is not limited to, evaluation of the letter of interest and personal resume, oral interview panel, and Chief of Police interview. Successful applicants must meet or exceed the aforementioned minimum qualifications and will be expedited through the process.
