A native Californian, I grew up in its heart in the San Joaquin Valley where I attended K – 12 in Fresno. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Biology, from California State University, Fresno, where while teaching, I also met my wife Mary. I later earned a Master of Science in Atmospheric Science from the University of California, Davis, specializing in boundary layer meteorology, meso- and micro-meteorology, biometeorology and air pollution. I worked in rural Fresno County as a forecaster for agricultural interests and creator of novel micro-computer based thermodynamic stability software.

After moving to Santa Clarita, we built a studio where I became a premier large format photographer and one of the few remaining master practitioners of fine art monochrome (black and white) photographic darkroom printing, culminating in the operation of our own gallery in downtown Los Angeles. Following my wife’s passing, I moved to Stallion Springs in 2017, filing and running for the Stallion Springs Community Service Distirct (SSCSD) Board of Directors the following year. My primary goals are threefold: (1) To humanize and demystify the SSCSD to its residents, (2) To listen to resident’s concerns and act only in the best interests of all residents, (3) To assist the CSD and its residents in any way possible in making Stallion Springs one of the best places to live in California. In addition to serving on the SSCSD Board, I also serve as Director on the Hearing Board of the Eastern Kern Air Pollution Control District.

In the last millennium I was a pioneering ultra-distance trail runner, Class V whitewater kayaker, skier and climber. More recently, I have worked/volunteered over much of the past 10 years in harm reduction in many festivals throughout California though my work as a Black Rock Ranger and the Burning Man Organization.
